Yesterday my son told me at the last minute that he needed a gift for a birthday party. Well…. not having enough time, I decided to just give a couple of dollars. I didn’t want to just send him with money in his hand, so I went through my stash and decided to put together a envelope with some card stock that I had, added some stickers, and wrapped the money up in some tissue paper.
This is what I came up with:
It was easy, simple, and quick. I even had the girls watch so they knew how easy it was to make one. I was sharing stories with them about how, at their age, I was making these same envelopes with letters I wrote for my friends. They thought it was so cool that they started writing letters to their own friends and making envelopes. Not only did they get a craft lesson, but they also utilized the opportunity to practice on their writing skills. That’s killing two birds with one stone. Score!
