Back To School Morning

It’s that time again!! School is back and we all are excited!

Our morning routine is back on! We have a schedule that we stick to so that we can have a smooth morning getting out of the door. I first wake up an hour to and hour and a half before I get the kids up. It’s my time to have some tea, read my bible, pray, and get some work done in peace. I prepare breakfast and sometimes start it. If there is some cleaning that needs to be done then I do that too. I call it, the calm before the storm.

When it’s time, I wake the girls up. While they are getting ready for school, I finish up with packing the perishables in there lunch bags and start cook breakfast.

I wait until the girls are finished getting ready before I wake the boys up. It’s easier this way because the girls don’t take long to get ready.

While the boys are getting ready for school, I finish up on everyone’s breakfast.

This morning I tried to make apple pancakes. I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought I’d give it a try.

Here is my first set of Apple Pancakes

Not to bad for my first time and the kids thought it was cool! They had eggs and bacon to compliment the pancakes.

After breakfast, the kids brush their teeth, wash their face, and put lotion on. When they are completely done with getting ready they have to make their bed, and clean up their rooms before they leave all while I clean up in the kitchen.

When the rooms are done, I do a room check, and as long as everything is put in it’s place the boys are free to walk to school with the neighborhood kids to school. I leave with the girls to walk, bike, or drive them to school.

That’s my morning from about 430am to 745am. The schedule that we have seems to work out for us. It used to be so hectic in the mornings a few years back, but once I got into the hang of things and set doable schedules for the household, everything came into to play and worked out just fine.

First day back to school!!

The kids and I are excited about them going back, however, we thought it would be funny to take a picture of my joy of the summer being over and their sorrow of summer vacation ending. The baby acted really well for this photo 😉
