Motivation Mondays

Now that the kids are back, I can get back into my workout regimen. Mondays are the toughest. Sometimes a little motivation here and there can help push you to lace up your tennis shoes and get going.

The new year is here and a lot of people rush to the gyms and start their diets, only to become burnt out after only a few weeks. I have done the same in the past. Last January, I decided to not give up and follow through with my workouts. As most of you may know, I do bootcamp 3 days a week, with other exercising other days of the week. I love it. I have muscle, my health has gotten better (not that it was bad in the first place), and my clothes fit better.

I gave myself reachable goals that didn’t pertain to losing weight. I worked out for good health, making it part of my lifestyle. I used MyFitnessPal to keep an account of what I put in my body. I gave myself challenges, see how far I can go.

My Workout Jar

Starting a new one today. I add a dollar for every workout. I also put a dollar in for each number I go up during my fitness test. For example, if I did 40 push ups during the last fit test, then I push myself to do 45 the next time around then I add the 5 for each push up. At the end of every month I can choose to spend it as a reward for myself or save it, and keep adding to it over time. It’s great for motivating yourself. Treat yourself to a new outfit for sticking to your guns.

This month I’m starting 30 Day Challenges over. Every month it’s a different one. This month, Squats. I try to do them in the afternoon, when I am low on energy. When the number gets to 100 I break it down and do sets throughout the day. Before lunch, before getting the kids, while cooking during. Anytime that you have an extra minute, you can get some form of workout done.

Whatever it is that you choose to do, Just Do It, because you don’t want to look back with regret. Shouldas, Couldas, and Wouldas gets you nowhere fast.

I don’t work hard because I hate my body, I work out because I love it!
