“God will break you to position YOU
Break you to promote you
And break you to put you in your right place
But when He breaks you He doesn’t hurt you, He doesn’t
When He breaks you He doesn’t destroy you, He does it with; grace”
– Tasha Cobbs Leonard, “Gracefully Broken”
Grace is defined as unmerited favor, favor in the eyes of God. Gracefully Broken is about being broken by God, so that He can take you to higher places with Him.
To be gracefully broken is to surrender it all to God so that He can position you, promote you, and put you in a place where you can develop a new level of character, or experience a new blessing.
To be gracefully broken is to surrender everything to Him, pouring out our hearts wholeheartedly, all based on the knowledge that our brokenness has a purpose. It is in our brokenness, that He will make us strong.
To be gracefully broken is to be in a season in our lives where our emotions, our thoughts, our family, our finances, our relationships, our dreams, our jobs, our city, our nation has been placed at the feet of Jesus without a single thing left behind so that with His Grace, He can align it all to His will, His way, and His purpose. A season where we fully depend on the power and work of God alone in our lives. Where it is no longer about us, but about God and His Purpose within us.
God knows that the breaking has to happen. And even during the breaking He does it with grace. At times, we fail Him and we get consumed by the things of this world. Then when He comes in to break it away, instead of being angry with us saying, “I told you not to get into that”, He carefully takes it away from us because He loves us so much. He knows how much things of this world can hurts us, especially those things we know we need to let go of but don’t want to.
But do you know what we can hold on to?
The truth of believing and knowing that, His nature is good (Exodus 34:5-7), He is our strength and our portion forever (Psalm 73:26), He is patience, and He comes in to gracefully break us so that we can be realigned, repositioned, and redesigned for His purpose.
Yes, you will suffer for a short time. But after that, God will make everything right. He will make you strong He will support you and keep you from failing. He is the God who gives all grace. He chose you to share in His Glory in Christ. That glory will continue forever. – – 1 Peter 5:10
