Slumber Party!!

What a weekend! I finally got around to throwing my daughter’s slumber party. I had plans to have her party the weekend after her birthday but we ended up going out of town that weekend so I moved it to this past weekend. It was a night full of crafts, laughter, and happy, screaming little girls 😉

The party started at 4pm Saturday evening. The theme was this cute ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun‘ party set that I ordered from Oriental Trading company. Check them out here.

The plan was to make crafts, eat, watch movies, and have a good time.

I had my two girls plus the extra 3 girls that my daughter picked out. There were 5 girls all together, that had been ready to party. I lucked up and had help from one of the parents who just so happened to be a close friend of mines. She decided to stay the night, and help me with the girls. She was a lifesaver. Never can go wrong with an extra pair of hands to help you get through a party of hyper girls.

When the girls first arrived I had put their names on their reusable cups, and I sent them outside to play in the front yard while my friend helped me to get set up for the first craft of the night. I borrowed some glue guns from my church. I gave one to each girl, and had them make and decorate their own button bracelets and rings.

The girls LOVED these crafts. Being able to make something cool, and be able to wear it later made the girls very happy. I love having crafts activities at parties. Crafts that can be taken home and used. Not just thrown to the side and put in the trash later.

Next, the girls ate pizza and snacks that hubby was able to go pick up for me while I entertained that girls. They all ate good. After eating I had the girls put on their Pajamas, and help me set of their sleep area in the living room.

After getting ready for bed, the next craft they did was paint eyeballs magnets for Halloween. I found these eyeballs at Micheals Craft store for $1.00 each. A cheap and easy craft.

Coloring DIY flashlights key chains with permanent markers was the third craft for the night. The girls thought this craft was the cutest. When they were done they played around in the room with the lights off. That entertainment lasted for a half an hour! Who knew that flashlights could be so fun?

After the flashlights we went ahead and sung happy birthday. I got this beautiful cake from Dick’s Bakery. They helped to add such a great personal touch that my daughter loved. I asked her which one of her pictures that she wanted to eat and she gladly picked her baby picture on the top left hand corner.

“My face taste delicious,” She yelled. Everyone laughed.

After cake and ice cream, it was movie time. I started out 5 girl scout lanyards for each girl, and had them work on while they watch the movies. We had them watch, The Croods, and the movie Epic. They used the first movie to burn up all of their sugar, and the second movie to work on their lanyards. After the second movie all of the girls were knocked out.

The next morning, the party continued with my making breakfast, having them clean up, and then taking them all to church. Hubby and my friend both thought I was crazy for taking them but I did it. They all were excited about going and I figured, why not? They said they all had a great time a church.

“I love going to your church. I have so much fun there,” said one of the little girl after leaving church.

After church was over, I finally sent all of the girls home and ended the party. Instead of regular gift bags, I order these bags. They were small, but cute and durable. Their take home bag included  the 5 crafts that they made, 3 lip gloss, an eye mask, a barbie toothbrush, nail polish, a Dream Catcher Key chain, and a cute little body set that had lotion, shower gel, body wash, and a body sponge. Everything was able to fit in their little tote bags except for the reusable cups that I got all of them to use throughout the party. A great idea for less mess.
