Today is my oldest daughter’s birthday!
Before she came along, I was the only girl in the house. My husband, the boys, and even the dog, all males. As much as I loved being around my boys, I was yearning for a cute little girl. A beautiful little girl that looks like me, acts like me, is funny and sassy with a heart of gold.
I’d like to say that we planned her from conception. From the time we decided to have a 3rd child I was determined to have a girl. I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks. My doctor came into my room to inform me that I was pregnant. She then asked me if I wanted a boy or a girl. I told her that I knew I was having a girl. She replied that it was too soon to tell, but when it came time for the ultrasound, I was right.
When she was born I was overjoyed! I dressed her in nothing but pink for the first year of her life. Hubby would ask if there was another color she could wear, my answer would be a no. I had been around the colors blue and green for a few years with the boys. I was used to dirty, mess, and bugs. Bob The Builder and Power Rangers. I was ready for pinks, purples, princesses, and girly stuff.
Over the years my baby girl has been growing into a amazing young lady. She is smart. She has a smile that lights up a room. A sense humor that has everyone laughing. She has a huge heart, and is always willing to help others.
Not a day goes that I don’t have a deja’vu moments when she say or does certain things. She not only looks just like me, she acts JUST like me too. Same mannerism, same smile, same jokes and saying, same personally. It’s like I’m watching myself grow up.
Happy Birthday to my mini me. I’m so proud of my little lady. She is growing up into such a beautiful young woman. She has a great sense of humor and has the biggest heart. Mini me is a delight to be around. I love everything about her, and thank God everyday for blessing me with her.
