Dough Play

Speaking of Play dough, I thought I’d share a list of play dough recipes I have tried in the past

Peanut Butter Play Dough

18oz. peanut butter

6 Tb honey

Non-fat dry milk

Cocoa for flavor (about a half of a teaspoon)

Mix all ingredients, adding enough dry milk to make dough pliable. Shape, decorate with edible treats, and eat!

Apple Pie Scented Play Dough

1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1/2 Tb vegetable oil
1 ts cream of tartar
1/2 ts ntumeg
1 ts cinnimon
1 ts red floor color
1 cup of water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine all dry ingredients and mix well.
  2. Add in vegetable oil, food color, and water, stir.
  3. Cook over medium heat until the dough pulls away from pot and starts to become dry.
  4. Turn off heat, let cool, and knead.
Notes

If the dough feels too sticky, knead in a tablespoon of flour.

And for the Christmas Time:

Ginger Bread Play Dough

1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground cloves,
2 tbsp. vegetable oil,
1 cup water

Instructions

In a medium saucepan whisk together dry ingredients.

Next mix in the water, oil, and stir until a thick batter is formed.

Cook the mixture over low/medium heat until a thick dough forms.

Turn out onto parchment paper and knead until smooth.

Makes about 2 cups of dough.

For Snow Play Dough just make the regular play dough that I posted at the bottom of this post and add glitter
