DIY Halloween: Bloody Candles

Hello October!!

Welcome to the month of candy, costumes, and creepy stuff.  It’s that time of year where I bring out the glue guns, spiders, skeletons, and eyeballs for some decorating fun.

Every year I’m on a mission to make as many halloween decorations as I can, for a low as I can. The holidays are approaching, and I’m just not into overspending on my holiday decorations. The Dollar Tree is a great place to get most of my decorating needs. It’s a cheap store, but with the right tools, you can make a little bit of nothing into something awesome.

For example, these super easy Bloody Candles that I made can be done it minutes!

Scrapbook_1444058979681What you will need:

  • White Candles
  • Red Candles
  • Lighter
  • Parchment Paper (You can use any kind of paper, I just used what I had on hand)

I placed the white candles onto the parchment paper to protect my table, and keep the mess to a minimum.

I grabbed a lighter, and used it to light the red candle.

Once the candle starts to heat up and melt, I tipped it to the side, letting it drip onto the white candle. I found that by letting the candle sit on the edge and drip, it would melt down the sides. Giving the candle an authentic, bloody look. You can add as much or a little as you want.

A quick and simple craft that anybody can make, these candles are a great addition to any creepy decor.
