I’m going to admit that a few weeks ago, I had been feeding my family out of my crockpot for 2 weeks straight. I thought, what a great way to save time and dinner stress. I add to the pot, set it, and forget it. Can’t get any easier than that, right?
Upon the third week that I was about to have my family live out of my crockpot again, hubby and my oldest son informed me that they were done with crockpot meals. Hubby has officially banned me from using it for awhile hahaha. He and my son would ask, ‘”What is for dinner? Hope it’s not from the crockpot.”
Now, by no means, do the dislike my crockpot meals, they just don’t want to eat it over and over again. Hubby has a thing with texture. He is not much of a soup or stew type of person. He love burgers, Chicken that is broiled, grilled, or fried, steaks, potatoes. He said, while the food tasted good, he just wasn’t a fan of the texture of the foods.
So, I am taking a break from my lovely pot. I will pick it back up some time in December when the crockpot hate party has died down.
We have been doing a lot of eating out since my mom was in town visiting. I did manage to get in one meals this week though. I love garlic, pasta, spinach, and chicken. These food items are always in my kitchen. Wednesday night is youth group night for the 3 oldest and that’s the day that I try to make something simple. It’s a family favorite, that is not made in my crockpot 😉
Start out by cooking 1Lb of pasta of your choice in a pot of hot water and cook until done.
Add 3 TB Olive Oil in the with the chicken in a pan.
Serve Immediately!!
